How to use CBD Oil

So you're interested in CBD Oil but want to know more? Well you've come to the right place. We're going to show you step by step how to use CBD Oil.

But first ...

What is CBD Oil?

CBD, also known as cannabidiol, is the non-psychoactive compound found in the cannabis sativa plant. In other words, if you were wondering does CBD get you high? the answer is no. Although CBD is just one of many cannabinoids found in cannabis, current research shows that many of the health benefits found in marijuana stem from CBD.

CBD Formula

How does CBD make you feel?

In general, CBD oil is not meant to make you feel something, it's meant to NOT make you feel something. In practice, cannabidiol is one of nature's most effective anti-inflammatories, making it a trusted and safe way to treat many types of pain and health conditions.

Likewise, CBD's effect on the brain's serotonin receptors makes it a helpful medicine against anxiety and depression. It’s considered a natural remedy for what usually has to be treated with potentially harmful medication with many undesirable side effects.

In other words, CBD doesn't get you high but offers a wide array of benefits ranging from inflammation to anxiety with little to no side effects.

What does CBD do?

Cannabinoids offer tremendous health benefits with a wide range of applications thanks in part to the endocannabinoid system. This crucial biological signaling pathway is involved in many processes throughout the human body, especially in the nervous system. In practice, CBD works by targeting these cannabinoid receptors throughout the central and peripheral nervous system. Moreover, CBD's anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties work fast to alleviate pain and soreness, without any substantial side effects.

CBD Benefits

Does CBD show up on a drug test?

It is highly unlikely that someone will fail a drug test from using CBD oil. The current laws restrict legal hemp from having more than 0.3% THC, which is a remarkably small amount. Most drug tests target THC and legitimate CBD products should not have enough to cause one to fail a drug test. However, it's vital to stick to trustworthy CBD companies with 3rd party testing to ensure that you know exactly what you're buying.

How to use CBD Oil?

Although CBD can be found in almost everything, including water, gummies, makeup, and hand creams, many people stick to the traditional tincture.

Tinctures are popular for the simple reason that they are easy to use and get the job done without any gimmicks. Furthermore, tinctures are particularly favorable since they offer fast-acting relief, particularly in treating headaches, anxiety, menstrual pain, and seizures.

When using a tincture, remember to first shake well before each use.

These concentrated formulas can be applied sublingually (under the tongue), directly on the skin, or into food/beverages. However, tinctures are believed to be most effective when used sublingually, but it's important to stick with what you're comfortable with.

To take a sublingual tincture, place the drops under your tongue and take a few slow, deep breaths in through your mouth and then exhale through your nose. After letting the tincture rest under your tongue for approximately 1 minute, you can swallow and take a drink.

If you want to apply the tincture to your skin for inflammation or other healing purposes, you can place one drop on the desired area and rub it in. Alternatively you may add the drops to your favorite lotion or skin product.

If the thought of placing the drops under your tongue bothers you or you just don't like the taste, simply add your preferred dose to your favorite beverage or snack. We recommend CBD be mixed with hot tea or coffee in the morning as the two complement each other quite nicely.

How much CBD should I take?

Although the medicinal cannabis field has come so far, there is still so much more to learn and research. This is especially true once you're dealing with specific cannabinoids, where the medical knowledge is still quite up-and-coming.

Nevertheless, studies show that the ability of CBD to act on the brain's serotonin receptors makes it an effective medicine for anxiety and many other health conditions.

Finding the right dosage can be difficult, especially considering the widespread mislabeling all too common in the industry. The first factor to consider is whether your CBD is an isolate or full-spectrum.

In practice, isolates typically need to be administered in significantly high doses in order to be effective. On the other hand, full-spectrum cannabidiol is generally more beneficial and considerably more effective at much lower dosages.

It's important to remember that CBD dosage varies by person and has very little to do with body size.

For starters, we recommend dosing in increments of quarters of the dropper. Therefore, it's best to start with a quarter of a dropper, once or twice daily depending on how you feel. Likewise, it's better to start lower and move your way to a higher dose.

While there are no major side effects to worry about, taking too much CBD can lead to difficulty sleeping and diarrhea.

Is CBD safe to mix with other medications?

It should come to no surprise to learn that CBD may influence the efficacy of other medications. In fact, prescription medications can be affected by compounds ranging from alcohol to grapefruit and everything in between. Nevertheless, cannabis has not only been shown to induce minimal interactions with pharmaceuticals at best, some medications become more effective when metabolized with cannabis.

Furthermore, there is speculation that CBD may help alleviate certain common side effects of prescription medications. In fact, the anti-psychotic, anti-nausea, and neuroprotective properties of CBD may help regulate the effects of many severe medical treatments such as chemotherapy.

Nonetheless, it's always better to err on the side of caution and consult with your doctor about potential drug interactions.
